Hardy Diagnostics Cefsulodin-Irgasan-Novobiocin (CIN) Agar / MacConkey Agar with Sorbitol Biplate combines two selective and differential media into a single, space-saving format designed to streamline isolation and identification workflows.

Section I – CIN Agar:
Formulated for the isolation and differentiation of Yersinia enterocolitica and Aeromonas species, CIN Agar contains cefsulodin, irgasan, and novobiocin to inhibit competing Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, allowing characteristic colony morphology development.

Section II – MacConkey Agar with Sorbitol (SMAC):
A selective and differential medium for the detection of Escherichia coli O157:H7, which typically forms colorless colonies due to its inability to ferment sorbitol.

This dual-media configuration supports comprehensive screening from a single specimen—ideal for clinical and food safety laboratories processing enteric or diarrheal samples.

Features and Benefits:
• Combines two selective media on one plate for simultaneous pathogen screening
• Supports isolation of Yersinia, Aeromonas, and E. coli O157:H7
• Reduces setup time and media waste compared to single plates
• Clear polystyrene plates provide distortion-free viewing
• Packaged in breathable sleeves to minimize condensation
• Convenient, ready-to-use format; store refrigerated at 2–8°C
• Quality-controlled for sterility and performance

The Hardy Diagnostics CIN / MacConkey Agar with Sorbitol Biplate combines two selective and differential media for isolating Yersinia enterocolitica, Aeromonas spp., and E. coli O157. Section I: CIN Agar; Section II: MacConkey Agar with Sorbitol. Incubate at 37°C for 18–24 hours.
