CRITERION™ Malt Extract Agar (MEA) is a nutrient-rich, dehydrated culture medium formulated for the isolation, cultivation, and maintenance of yeasts and molds from environmental, food, beverage, and clinical samples. It is especially suitable for quality control in brewing, fermentation, cannabis, and cosmetic industries where fungal contamination monitoring is critical.

This medium supports robust fungal growth due to its high carbohydrate and nitrogen content derived from malt extract and peptone, while maintaining an acidic pH that suppresses bacterial growth.
