CRITERION™ Rappaport-Vassiliadis (RV) Broth by Hardy Diagnostics is formulated for the selective enrichment of Salmonella species from food, environmental, and other contaminated sample types. The medium’s unique formulation—featuring elevated magnesium chloride, low pH, and malachite green—creates conditions that suppress competing organisms while promoting the recovery of Salmonella, including stressed or injured cells.

RV Broth is widely used in FDA, USDA, ISO, and AOAC–based workflows and is an essential pre-enrichment step in many food safety testing programs.
