CRITERION™ Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (Sabdex) with Lecithin and Tween® 80 is designed for the cultivation and recovery of fungi, including molds and yeasts, from environmental surfaces. This formulation is commonly used in facilities where routine monitoring of microbial contamination is essential—such as pharmaceutical cleanrooms, cosmetic manufacturing areas, food production environments, and research labs.

The addition of Lecithin and Tween® 80 provides neutralizing capability against residual disinfectants that may remain on surfaces after cleaning. This ensures more accurate fungal recovery by preventing antimicrobial carryover from suppressing growth.

With its low pH and high dextrose concentration, Sabouraud Dextrose Agar selectively supports fungal growth while inhibiting many bacterial species.
