CRITERION™ XLD Agar, Dehydrated Culture Media, Mylar™ Zip-Pouch for 2L
For laboratory, institutional, and professional use only. Not available for residential or personal purchase. Orders are subject to verification.
CRITERION™ XLD Agar (Xylose Lysine Deoxycholate Agar) by Hardy Diagnostics is a selective and differential medium formulated for the isolation and differentiation of Gram-negative enteric pathogens, particularly Salmonella and Shigella species, from fecal, food, and environmental specimens.
This medium differentiates bacteria based on their ability to ferment xylose, decarboxylate lysine, and produce hydrogen sulfide. Salmonella colonies typically appear red with black centers, while Shigella species produce red colonies without blackening — enabling clear interpretation and accurate pathogen identification.
Packaged in a pre-measured 2L Mylar™ Zip-Pouch, this format eliminates weighing steps, minimizes dust formation, and allows fast, contamination-free preparation. CRITERION™ Dehydrated Culture Media is manufactured under ISO 13485 and cGMP standards, ensuring superior solubility, lot-to-lot consistency, and optimal microbial recovery performance.
