HardyCHROM™ Salmonella is a selective and differential chromogenic medium designed for the isolation and differentiation of Salmonella spp. from other Enterobacteriaceae in clinical, food, and environmental samples.

This medium exploits the unique ability of Salmonella spp. to metabolize propylene glycol, producing a characteristic pink to magenta colony color. Non-Salmonella members of Enterobacteriaceae, such as Proteus and Escherichia coli, appear blue, blue-green, white, or colorless, enabling rapid differentiation.

Gram-positive bacteria and non-glucose fermenters are effectively inhibited by selective agents in the formulation, ensuring clear, reliable recovery of target organisms.

Each plate is constructed from optically clear, heavy-duty polystyrene for distortion-free observation and packed in breathable sleeves to maintain media quality and minimize condensation.
