The LES (Lactose Endo with Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) formulation enhances selectivity by suppressing Gram-positive organisms while allowing coliforms to grow as characteristic red colonies with a metallic sheen, easily distinguishable from non-coliform flora.

Each plate is manufactured from optically clear, heavy-duty polystyrene for distortion-free viewing and durability. Plates are packaged in breathable bags to prevent condensation and maintain media integrity. To preserve the light-sensitive components, these plates should be stored and incubated in the dark. For added protection, Hardy Diagnostics offers free reusable Blok-Boxes for convenient light shielding during storage and incubation.
