Triton™ X-100 is a widely used non-ionic surfactant and mild detergent designed for biochemical and cell biology applications. This laboratory-grade reagent is commonly used for solubilizing membrane proteins, lysing cells, permeabilizing membranes, and preparing lysis buffers under non-denaturing conditions.

Triton X-100 is valued for its gentle membrane disruption properties, making it ideal for protein extraction, immunofluorescence staining, Western blot sample preparation, and organelle isolation. It functions as an effective wetting agent and emulsifier while maintaining structural integrity of many biological molecules.
