Designed for fast, reliable environmental surface sampling, the Whirl-Pak® Pre-Moistened Speci-Sponge® Bag streamlines microbiological monitoring in food processing, pharmaceutical, and cleanroom environments.

Each sterile sponge is pre-hydrated with 10 mL of neutralizing buffer, eliminating the need for manual wetting and ensuring consistent sample recovery. The buffer neutralizes a broad range of commonly used surface sanitizers, allowing accurate detection of microorganisms even in recently cleaned areas.

After sampling, the sponge is returned directly to the Whirl-Pak bag, sealed, and transported to the laboratory for analysis. Media may be added directly to the bag for incubation, or samples can be expressed, pipetted, and plated according to lab protocol. A foil-lined pouch prevents buffer evaporation and supports long shelf life without refrigeration.
