YPD Broth (Yeast Extract Peptone Dextrose) is a nutrient-rich liquid culture medium widely used for the growth and maintenance of yeast and other fungi. This NutriSelect® Basic formulation supports the propagation of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Pichia pastoris, Candida spp., and other heterotrophic microorganisms commonly used in molecular biology and fermentation research.
The medium contains bacteriological peptone and yeast extract as nitrogen and vitamin sources, while dextrose provides an easily metabolized carbohydrate energy source. YPD Broth is frequently used for routine yeast cultivation, molecular cloning workflows, and protein expression systems.
