Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) with Chlortetracycline, 15x100mm Plate
Hardy Diagnostics Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) with Chlortetracycline is a selective medium designed for the cultivation, isolation, and maintenance of yeasts and molds from environmental and food samples.
The addition of chlortetracycline inhibits bacterial growth, ensuring accurate fungal recovery and colony development. PDA provides a rich nutrient base of potato infusion and dextrose, promoting sporulation and pigment expression in fungal species such as Aspergillus, Penicillium, and Candida.
This medium is widely used in food safety, cannabis testing, and environmental monitoring laboratories for the enumeration and differentiation of fungal contaminants.
Features and Benefits:
• Selective formulation suppresses bacterial interference with fungal growth
• Supports spore formation and pigment development for easy identification
• Deep-fill 26mL format ideal for prolonged incubation periods
• Optically clear polystyrene plates ensure distortion-free observation
