Hardy Diagnostics Rappaport-Vassiliadis (RV) R10 Broth, 10ml is a selective enrichment medium designed for the isolation of Salmonella species from food, dairy, and environmental samples, including sewage and polluted waters.
The formulation contains malachite green, magnesium chloride, and low pH to suppress competing intestinal bacteria while promoting the growth of Salmonella spp., even in low-level contaminations.
This R10 variant has a reduced magnesium chloride concentration, resulting in a less selective medium that enhances recovery from stressed or damaged Salmonella cells often found in processed food samples.
Each 10ml tube is prefilled and sterile, ready for direct inoculation — saving time and minimizing contamination risk in enrichment workflows.
