Whirl-Pak® Pre-moistened Speci-Sponge® Bags are designed for environmental surface sampling and sanitation verification. Each sterile sponge is pre-hydrated with 10 mL of neutralizing buffer to inactivate a wide range of surface sanitizers, including quaternary ammonium compounds, phenolics, iodine preparations, chlorine-based disinfectants, mercurials, formaldehyde, and glutaraldehyde.
The sponge is ready to use and packaged in a sterile Whirl-Pak® bag. After sampling, the sponge is returned to the bag, sealed, and transported to the laboratory for analysis.
Each bag has a 532 mL (18 oz) capacity and is gamma-irradiated for sterility. Bags are foil-packed to prevent buffer evaporation and have a 24-month shelf life at ambient storage conditions.
